3-Minute Reels
Users can now create videos that are up to three minutes long. This is a significant change from the previous limit of just 90 seconds.
Instagram originally focused on short-form videos, but they listened to user feedback. With the new three-minute limit, users can now tell longer stories, showcase more content, and engage their audience in a deeper way.
New Feed Layout
Instagram has made a change to how posts appear on user profiles. The new layout shifts from a 1:1 square format to a 4:5 aspect ratio, which is taller than the previous format.
This update is designed to help users convey messages and tell visual stories more effectively. Make sure to update any graphics you have made to fit this new layout!
Views on Profile
With the latest update, you can now see the total views on your profile for both reels and photo posts. This means that all your posts and reels will display their view counts directly on your main profile page.
This feature allows you to easily track how many people are engaging with your content, giving you better insight into your audience's interests.
New Profile Name Location
They've updated the profile design by repositioning your profile name above your followers, to create a more streamlined and visually appealing experience.
Scheduling DMs
Instagram has introduced a feature that allows you to schedule your direct messages (DMs). If you’re a night owl and often find yourself messaging late at night, this update is perfect for you. Now, you can craft your messages and set them to send automatically in the morning or at any time you choose!
To schedule a message, simply hold down the send paper plane icon and select the desired day and time for your message to be sent. You can schedule messages up to 29 days in advance, with the time zone for scheduling based on your device settings for accurate timing. To view your scheduled messages, just tap on "Scheduled message" at the bottom of your chat.
Comments on Stories
Instagram has introduced a new feature that allows users to leave comments on stories. Now, anyone who can view a story can also see the comments, just like on regular posts. These comments will disappear once the story is gone.
Multiple Audio Tracks on Reels
This feature provides you with greater creative freedom for your content. Instagram users can now add up to 20 audio tracks to a single Reel, enabling them to create unique audio mixes. This flexibility allows for seamless synchronization with text, stickers, and video clips, enhancing the overall appeal of the Reel.
Add Music to Profile
Instagram has rolled out a new feature that allows users to add music to their profiles. This option is available for creators and personal profiles only.
To add music, follow these steps:
Tap "Edit Profile."
Select "Add Music to Your Profile."
Search for a song or browse recommendations.
Choose a 30-second clip of the song.
Tap the checkmark to confirm.
