Over the past month, Instagram has been rolling out more exciting updates, including trial reels for reaching different audiences, new caption prompts to enhance your content, and improved voice enhancement tools for your reels!
New Audience Trial Reels
Instagram's new Trial Reels feature lets creators test their content with non-followers before sharing with their main audience. This innovative tool provides valuable feedback on content performance while keeping trial reels hidden from your regular followers and profile until you decide to share them more widely.
To share your trial reel on Instagram:
1) Create a reel as normal.
2) Before sharing the reel, tap the toggle to turn on Trial.
3) Tap Share.
Within 24 hours, you'll receive insights on your trial reel's performance. While the reel stays private from your main feed and profile, keep in mind that it may still be visible through shares in direct messages or on feature-specific pages.
DM "Follow Up?" Reminder
Instagram is rolling out a new feature to help users manage their direct messages more efficiently. When visiting your direct messages tab, you may notice a "follow up?" prompt in blue appearing on the right-hand side next to messages you've read but haven't responded to yet. This visual indicator makes it easier to track and maintain conversations that need attention, so important messages don't get lost in your inbox. The prompt serves as a gentle reminder to circle back to conversations.
Carousel Posts Appear in Reels Tab
Instagram has implemented a new feature that integrates carousel posts with music into the Reels tab. This update means that photo carousels with music can be discovered alongside video content in the Reels section, making them visible to users beyond your follower base. For creators and businesses, this enhancement offers a valuable opportunity to expand their reach and boost engagement with a wider audience.
Text & Stickers Automatically Translated on Reels
Instagram is introducing automatic translation for text and caption stickers in reels. When viewers from different language backgrounds watch your reel, these elements will be automatically translated to their preferred language.
Translated stickers may appear in different sizes than the original stickers. Creators have the option to turn off this automatic translation anytime for their reels.
Voice Enhancement on Reels
Instagram's new voice enhancement feature for Reels automatically improves audio quality by reducing background noise and enhancing voice clarity. The feature removes ambient sounds and optimizes voice recordings to produce cleaner audio.
The tool functions in any recording environment, processing audio to achieve professional-grade sound quality regardless of background conditions.
Searching with Hashtags
Instagram has integrated hashtag browsing and search results into a unified interface. The platform now displays comprehensive search results when users select a hashtag, while maintaining functionality to follow, unfollow, and report hashtags.
This update creates a single centralized search experience for content discovery.
Prompt Options for Captions
Instagram has launched Prompts, a new feature that allows creators to add interactive questions within post captions. Users can respond to these prompts through Instagram Notes.
This feature integrates with Instagram's existing systems to enable direct interaction between creators and their audience through structured question-and-answer formats.
