Instagram spent another month testing out new updates, but LinkedIn has joined in on the fun this past month! Many of the Instagram updates are heavily focused on changing around the chat view and experience.
From creating collages to adding labels, here are the updates we have noticed:
📲 Undo & Redo on Reels:
Instagram has added undo and redo buttons, allowing users to easily reverse or reapply their editing actions. Users will now see two new buttons above the editing timeline.
Left-facing arrow: Tap this to undo your most recent editing action
Right-facing arrow: Tap this to redo an action you've just undone
💬 Organize Chats:
With new chat labels, you can easily filter conversations and quickly respond to important messages.
Here’s How:
1. Go to Instagram chats
2. Swipe left on a chat
3. Select More
4. Tap Add Label
Once your label is added, you will see it in your Instagram chat list.
👥 Tag or Collab?
When tagging users in your comments, Instagram now asks ‘Invite to collaborate’ with each user that you mention.
It will also give you the option to just tag the user like normal in the post.
🏞️ Collages with Photos:
You may have seen a notification in your Instagram chats prompting you to try collages.
This new feature allows users to create custom collages from their device’s camera roll and share them in your chats.
🔘 Chat Button:
Instagram is testing making the message icon the main focus on the lower toolbar on the app. It is situated in the middle of five buttons, bumping the reels icon to the side. You may not see this update on your page quite yet.
📽️ NEW video tab:
Users will now see a video tab in the app’s navigation bar. The tab launches a vertical video feed, very similar to TikTok and Instagram Reels.
